Water and Sewer Service:
The Town of Stephens City provides water and sewer service within its corporate limits where service is available.
A water deposit of $80.00 and service connections fee of $25.00 are required of all Town residents. The deposit is refundable whenever the customer moves with a final meter reading of total usage. The final bill will be deducted from the deposit. The service fee is non-refundable.
Property owners are required to pay a deposit and service connection fee. The owner having paid a deposit and having maintained his or her account in good standing for 12 consecutive months may apply to the Town for a refund of the deposit. Again, the service fee is non-refundable.
Water and Sewer Billing Period:
Water and sewer service is based on a bi-monthly (60 day) billing period (February, April, June, August, October & December). Payment is due within 33 days without a penalty being imposed. There are 7 days to pay with the 10% penalty added to the delinquent bill. After 40 days water and sewer service may be disconnected for nonpayment. The Town will not reconnect water service until the bill is paid in its entirety, nor after regular business hours.
There is a night drop box available for after hour’s payments and bills can now be paid online.
